We are living in a historic time.
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic spreads through the United States, the importance of nurses has been underscored ever single day.
Susanne Phillips, DNP, is one such leader and example of what a nurse does in a crisis. When our community was faced with an unprecedented battle against the coronavirus, she bravely took the call to action and mobilized our nurse practitioner faculty to set up testing sites to meet community demand and address concerns during the pandemic. Dr. Phillips' commitment to health and wellness, leadership and innovative thinking is now restoring our community's health during a time when uncertainty is the new normal. She delivers the kind of care and compassion that UCI nurses are known for.
In anticipation of this growing need for more nurse leaders like Dr. Phillips, the UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is educating nursing professionals to improve patient care and promote population health, locally and globally.
But, we need your help.
Invest in a nursing student on Giving Day, Wednesday, June 3. Many of our students and their families are challenged with meeting the costs of their college education due to the financial impact of COVID-19. We would like to dedicate this Giving Day to supporting all of the lab fees for incoming nursing students. $125 will fully support one student by providing them with their own nursing tote, which is filled with essential supplies such as blood pressure cuffs, Foley catheter trays and IV start kits, etc. Please consider making a gift of any amount, small or large, to help us meet our goal of supporting 100 students with nursing totes! This year, community challenge gifts have been secured by the School of Nursing to double the impact of your generosity.
Your support is important now more than ever. Every gift counts and makes a difference. Donate to the UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing today for a brilliant future.
