The UCI Retirees Association (UCIRA) represents all UCI retirees on the UCI campus, at the Med Center, and on UC system-wide committees regarding continuing health insurance services and other retirement benefits.
Our goal for Giving Day 2020 is to raise money for our UCIRA ‘Legacy Scholarships.' Last year, due to the generosity of our members, we awarded $6,000 in scholarship money to two new freshmen and one new transfer student.
These scholarships were created specifically for students with a family member who meets one of the following criteria: UCI retiree, UCI alumni, or current UCI staff member. (Family member connection limited to mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, sister, brother, aunt, or uncle.)
Additional eligibility requirements include:
- New freshman or new transfer student entering in fall quarter 2020
- Full-time enrollment for 2020-2021 academic year
- Minimum 3.5 GPA as a high school or transfer student
- Preference given to students with financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
