The School of Education has a long history of success in leading data-driven educational innovations as noted by its meteoric rise in ranking to become a top-10 school of education in the nation, top 4 public school of education. This shared commitment to the transformative power of education as an engine of equity and economic opportunity is what inspires our faculty, students, staff and alumni.
This distinction is the result of world-class research that generates new ideas; K-12 and community college partnerships that improve educational access and opportunity; dedicated students who are prepared to effect change in their classrooms and districts; deeply engaged alumni working in education to strengthen families, schools and youth organizations; and a generous philanthropic community with a shared passion for innovations in teaching and learning.
We invite you this Giving Day to support our students through scholarships for teacher candidates, fellowships for doctoral students and unrestricted support for emerging priorities such as student emergency grants.
Scholarships for Promising Teachers: Exceptional teaching is the most important school-based factor influencing student performance and lifelong outcomes. Join our campaign to put talented, passionate and diverse teachers in southern California K-12 classrooms by funding a scholarship for a promising teacher. Double your Impact: The first $1,000 raised will be matched thanks to a generous donation from MAT faculty.
K-12 Community Partnerships: The Orange County Educational Advancement Network (OCEAN) is home to community partnerships between K-12 schools, non-profit organizations, and the UCI School of Education. Through privately funded fellowship support, doctoral students partner with local schools to conduct research on real-time issues such as social-emotional learning, educational technology, STEM playgrounds and academic enrichment for foster youth.
Dean’s Excellence Fund: Contributions to the Dean’s Excellence Fund enable the Dean to provide essential support for priority initiatives in an ever-evolving climate, including emergency grants for students. Donors who contribute $1,000 or more are recognized as part of the Dean’s Leadership Society
