Your gift on Giving Day to the Research Justice Shop through the Newkirk Center for Science & Society Fund will provide important resources with dual impact to:
1) Support student fellows to gain experience collaborating to use their academic training to respond to “real world” problems that impact communities in Orange County, and
2) Match local community-based organizations with RJS fellows to identify research objectives and conduct community-based research projects.
At the Research Justice Shop, we build community-campus partnerships with diverse and uniquely situated community members, train university and community-based researchers in participatory, emancipatory research methods and ethics, and generate practices for collaborative and inclusive research that bring together academic and community expertise and resources to generate innovative insights and increase impact.
