On Giving Day, people from all over the world rally around UCI for 24 hours, spreading Anteater spirit, challenging each other, and making a mountain out of an anthill. Alumni, community members, students, staff, and faculty give what they can to the cause of their choice in order to further UCI’s vision to tackle the world’s great challenges and serve our community in truly meaningful ways.
You Choose
Giving Day is fueled by the spirit of community and collaboration. With so many worthy causes, your support is sure to make an impact – all while sharing what you are most passionate about at UCI. There are literally hundreds of worthy causes. No matter where you direct your support, you’ve made a difference in our UCI community.
You have many choices on where your money will go, but we hope that you will consider supporting one of the following staff-related funds and programs:
- The Mike Puritz Staff Assembly Career Enhancement Scholarship Program – Allows staff to further their education
- Staff Relief Fund – Supports staff experiencing unforeseen financial hardship
- Staff Assembly Programming – Allows Council to create, develop and enhance programs which serve all staff
- Chancellor’s Emergency Fund – Supports faculty, students and staff in times of emergency
To make your donation, click on the yellow “Give Now” button at the top of your screen and select the designation you wish to contribute to. To unlock additional funds to match your gift, click on the options on the right hand side of your screen and select the challenge you wish to unlock.
Small Gifts, Big Impact
It’s not about the size of the gift, it’s the act of giving. No matter how small, your gift makes a difference. Your gift combines with other gifts, and before we know it, we’re well on our way to making that mountain out of an anthill.

All gifts made to the Mike Puritz Staff Assembly Career Enhancement Scholarship fund on Giving Day will be matched dollar for dollar by a generous benefactor, up to the first $1,000. Last year, we were fortunate enough to have 32 gifts towards the Staff Assembly Staff Scholarship. This year, we want to challenge ourselves even further:
- When we reach $1,000 = Unlock a matching gift of $1,000
- When we reach 50 Gifts = Unlock an additional gift of $250
This year, we are excited to launch a new effort for special programs for Staff Assembly. Funds raised will help the Council create, develop and enhance programs which will serve over 10,000 UCI staff. These programs are designed for staff, by staff, based on staff feedback. Our Council Chair is excited to partner in this challenge and will match the first $250 raised.
