ADVANCING UROLOGIC CARE THROUGH MOLECULAR SCIENCE AND SURGEON-SCIENTIST TRAINING
The Surgical Molecular Innovation LaboratoriES (SMILES), supported by the Urology Lab Fund, is a translational research-focused unit within the Department of Urology, aiming to advance urologic care through the integration of molecular biology, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biotechnologies and surgical insight. By adopting emerging technologies and integrating close collaboration between clinicians and PhD scientists, SMILES translates mechanistic discovery into meaningful surgical innovation while cultivating a future generation of physician-scientists.
