The UC Irvine Student Housing Affinity Group creates community-based programs focused on supporting academic success and inclusive excellence through sponsorship of signature events. These student-focused programs are intentionally created to instill a sense of belonging, support, connection and community while celebrating who our UC Irvine students are!
We invite you to support us this Giving Day with a gift to the Student Services Fund. Your contributions toward reaching our monetary Giving Day goal of $5,000 will be instrumental in supporting our programmatic efforts to create communities where all are welcomed, celebrated and thriving!
No amount is too small, and every gift will bring us closer to our goal! Your contributions will directly benefit students and go toward Affinity Group programming.

Black Hair Care Wellness
For many of us, hair is a symbol of identity, resistance, creative expression and freedom. The annual "Black Hair Care and Wellness" event brings local hair stylists, barbers and braiders together to offer free hair styling and cuts to UC Irvine faculty, staff, students and their families. Guests at the event can enjoy food, raffle prizes, music and organic hair products all while having fun and building a stronger sense of community! Each year, this collaborative program with the Center for Black Cultures Resources & Research engages, connects and celebrates the rich tapestry of culture within the UC Irvine community!
World Fest
Working in tandem with the UC Irvine International Education Week, the Affinity Group plans to host over 300 attendees for a lively, large-scale event celebrating the diverse UC Irvine international community. We host activities that engage, expose, educate and celebrate the art of Japanese Origami craft-making, Indian Henna tattoos, foods from more than 5 countries as well as showcase live international/cultural performances and much, much more!
Spill the Tea: Grad Hour
The Affinity Group, in active collaboration with the LGBT Resource Center and the UC Irvine Counseling Center, aims to create a campus community where LGBTQ+ people can thrive and connect! Together, we host a monthly Spill the Tea: Grad hour program where all students can come together to “Spill the Tea” on just about any topic!
