At the UC Irvine Samueli School of Engineering, the Office for Experiential Learning (OEL) gives students the opportunity to move beyond lectures and into hands-on creation. They design and build competition vehicles, develop autonomous technologies, prototype new devices, and bring engineering to life through public performances and showcases. These experiences build the practical skills, confidence, and teamwork that prepare students to contribute on day one in industry and research.
Expanding these opportunities requires resources for materials, tools, workspace, safety training, and travel to national competitions. Increased support allows more students to participate, strengthens project outcomes, and keeps pace with rapidly evolving technologies. With the right infrastructure in place, students can test ideas, iterate quickly, and turn concepts into working solutions.
The result is an environment where learning is active, collaborative, and deeply connected to real-world impact — preparing engineers who are ready to design, build, and lead.
This Giving Day, we invite you to support OEL with a gift to the Samueli School of Engineering Dean's Fund.
