International Medical Education
GHREAT expectations: Expand clinical horizons through international travel

Each summer, UCI medical students and faculty travel to underserved, often remote areas of the world such as Tanzania or Panama or South Africa to share knowledge with local medical providers, implement useful and socioeconomically and culturally appropriate biomedical technologies designed for these challenging environments and conduct novel research.

This journey serves as a cornerstone of the UCI Global Health Research Education and Training (GHREAT) program, an elective experience that introduces students to the rigors and rewards of scientific study through mentored research projects.

Your philanthropic investment of any amount can help the next generation of physician leaders expand their horizons—and broaden perspectives in ways that make them more effective providers here at home.

Your gift today will be used to fund travel for GHREAT Program participants and to purchase portable medical devices for treating and teaching others abroad. If you would like to support a team traveling to a specific country in 2019, check out the options below:

When you support international medical travel, you change healthcare locally and globally forever with your generosity. Thank you for caring!
