Support Student Success this Giving Day

The UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is proud to be a leader in advancing nursing research, innovative education, and exceptional care for individuals, families and communities.

Our students are the face of tomorrow’s healthcare solutions. With the knowledge they gain through their UCI education – and from their nationally recognized teachers, who are generating knowledge today – they will transform tomorrow’s healthcare.

You can join us in our mission to create a healthier tomorrow by supporting our nursing students today. Consider a gift that helps define the future of health and wellness by supporting those who will provide it in the decades to come. Your generosity will ensure that talented students from all backgrounds and communities have opportunities to advance and thrive in essential health professions.

Below are two ways you can direct your support.

  • Undergraduate Student Scholarships: Thanks to the leadership of our Nursing Alumni Chapter Board, all gifts made to the Fund for Excellence will support undergraduate student scholarships. These scholarships offset tuition costs for our students, providing them with the support they need to graduate on time and to realize their full potential during their academic experience.

  • Emergency Student Fund: Gifts to this fund will help ease students’ urgent financial needs, allowing them to devote their full focus and attention to the innovative curriculum and comprehensive clinical experience central to our school’s core mission and reputation. Your support will provide students with the items they need to be successful, including books, technology, Wi-Fi, equipment, professional attire, parking passes, and more.

A future nurse needs your support! Join us in the collective effort to positively impact the lives of nursing students today. Elijah and Nikki both received the support they needed, when they needed it most, thanks to generous donations. Learn more about their stories and the impact your donation today can have on students like them – see the videos at the top of the page and quotes below.

Elijah Lin with fellow nursing students outside Douglas Hospital at UCI Medical Center in Orange. “Receiving a scholarship provided validation that someone else
believed in me. Instead of focusing on paying rent, bills and
tuition, I could focus on the reason I’m here in college, which
is to become a nurse, create meaningful connections
and build meaningful relationships with the people here.”
– Elijah Lin

Nikki Sincero in front of the new Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences building on the Irvine campus.
“When I first received the news of receiving the scholarship,
it was honestly very unexpected and it came at such a
needed time in my life. If it weren't for opportunities at UCI
and campaigns like Giving Day, I likely wouldn't be here as
a student or on track to be a future nurse.” – Nikki Sincero

A gift of any amount will contribute to the development of bright medical minds and new ideas for addressing complex healthcare challenges. By making a gift, you play a crucial role in our students’ ongoing success and future accomplishments, which will transform our community and beyond.
