UCI Giving Day 2023

Dear Chancellor's Club members,

I am delighted to take part in Giving Day 2023! As a first-generation student myself, I have seen firsthand the impact that education can have on someone’s life. Whether your pursuit is in the arts, stem or engineering, education has the power to change the trajectory of every person, from every background.

Today I invite you to consider giving to one of the longest standing club’s on campus. For the last 51 years, the Chancellor’s Club has focussed on the lives of our students – recognizing the areas of greatest needs and supporting them in various capacties as they face the complex world of higher education. In 2023, the Chancellor’s Club is committed to the support of first-generation college students who are pursuring advanced degrees at UCI.

Our provision of financial support to students serves the purpose of fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus environment. It also helps establish a pipeline of proficient and committed professionals who are poised to make a significant difference not only in their areas of study, but in society. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has hindered our ability to fully realize our fundraising objectives. Nevertheless, with this Giving Day we have the opportunity to revitalize our club goals and regain our status as a premier model within the university community.

With your support of 20 membership renewals and 50 gifts, we will be able to support at least 3 students through their fellowships in the Graduate Division.

Your generosity will make a real and lasting difference in the lives of UC Irvine students, and it will help to ensure that the next generation of leaders have the support and resources they need to succeed.
