CalTeach strives to reduce California’s critical shortage of qualified math and science teachers by recruiting, supporting, and preparing a diverse population of undergrad students in STEM majors to become socially-just equity-focused credentialed STEM teachers by graduation. Your gift will help alleviate the significant financial burden our students face in pursuing a teaching credential by funding: 

  • Testing fees associated with teacher credentialing (upwards of $500/student) 
  • Teaching supplies for lessons (upwards of $100/student) 
  • Professional clothing for the classroom (upwards of $100/student) 
  • Transportation costs to fieldwork sites (upwards of $300/student) 

Your gift to CalTeach will support UCI students and the community at large. CalTeach has generated over 500 credentialed STEM teachers since its inception, with over 70% of our alumni becoming teachers in low-income communities.
