The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UCI School of Medicine is focused on shaping the future of medicine in our community and beyond. From diagnosis to treatment, we are discovering and utilizing the latest techniques and technology to care for our patients. Our clinician-scientists are developing novel solutions to alleviate suffering, aid healing, speed rehabilitation and improve surgical outcomes. Our faculty are devoted to training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and researchers to be world leaders and provide the highest quality orthopaedic care. 

The UCI orthopaedic surgery residency program is a national leader of educational innovation and resident training. Our cadaveric training lab provides hands-on experience prior to ever entering an operating room. Additionally, our state-of-the-art technology offers safe and accessible orthopaedic training outside of the O.R. and without involving patients directly.

Orthopaedic residents at UCI gain substantial experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of all orthopaedic issues and are well-prepared to enter academic medicine or private practice.
