School of Humanities

The UCI School of Humanities is the heart of the university and where connections between disciplines are made. Our year-long Humanities Core course enrolls over 1000 students a quarter, including hundreds of non-humanities majors who receive a liberal arts education through the course.

Our current and emeriti faculty include trailblazers in critical theory, world history, Latin American history, and literary journalism. Our alumni include Pulitzer Prize-winning authors, business leaders, screenwriters, political officers, and more.

Our alumni represent an amazingly diverse group of professions and industries.  Proud Humanities Anteaters can be found leading the charge in fields like finance, law, politics, real estate, academia, the arts, journalism, the entertainment industry and beyond.
