Cardiology

Most of us know someone affected by heart disease—it remains the leading cause of death in the U.S. and impacts millions of families every year. But together, we can change that.

At UCI Health, we’re committed to pushing the boundaries of cardiovascular care, bringing cutting-edge research, specialized training and innovative treatments to the patients who need them most. On Giving Day, you can make a lasting impact by supporting one or both critical initiatives within the Mary & Steve Wen Cardiovascular Division.

Advancing Women's Heart Health

Heart disease is often misdiagnosed or overlooked in women. Too often, this delay in diagnosis leads to worse outcomes. The Women's Heart Program at UCI Health is working to close this gap by improving early detection, advancing research and ensuring women receive the specialized care they need.

Here’s how your gift to the Women’s Heart Program can make a difference:

  • $50 helps fund research into sex-specific risk factors for better detection and treatment.
  • $100 supports community outreach and education programs, ensuring women recognize the signs of heart disease and seek care sooner.
  • $500 helps enhance advanced imaging and testing capabilities, allowing for earlier and more accurate diagnoses.

Elevating Cardiology Training and Patient Care

The best heart care starts with expertly trained physicians. The Cardiovascular Simulation Center at UCI Health provides a state-of-the-art learning environment where physicians can practice life-saving procedures in a risk-free setting, refining their skills before treating real patients. This advanced training leads to better outcomes, fewer complications and stronger hearts in our community.

Here’s how your gift to the Cardiovascular Simulation Center through the Cardiology Faculty Support & Research Fund can make a difference:

  • $50 helps advance groundbreaking research, allowing us to gather critical data to improve simulation practices and patient outcomes.
  •  $100 supports collaboration and partnership among the medical community by subsidizing costs associated with publishing and presenting at national and international conferences.
  •  $500 helps us secure the latest simulation technologies, ensuring our physicians and fellows can set new standards for cardiovascular care and innovation.

Together, we can push the boundaries of cardiovascular care. Choose the initiative that speaks to you—or support both—and improve heart health in Orange County and beyond.
