You can shape the way tomorrow’s genetic counselors will deliver care by making a gift to the Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling at the UC Irvine School of Medicine today.
We are proud to be one of the pioneers in genetic counselor education in the United States. Our program began in 1973 at a time when only five other institutions in the nation offered a master's degree in genetic counseling. UC Irvine's first class of three genetic counseling students graduated in 1975. Today, we have more than 220 graduates and recently celebrated the program’s 50th anniversary.
The Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling is committed to equipping our students with a deep and practical understanding of how to use their counseling skills to support families, while also accessing the latest information and technology. Our students' skill development is enhanced by the opportunity to work with patients of diverse backgrounds.
Join us in celebrating more than 50 years of success by making a gift on Giving Day in support of our program and the Genetic Counseling Scholarship Endowment. Your donation, or any size, provides vital funding for graduate students and helps ensure the next generation of counselors receive top-tier training.
Now more than ever, it is important to keep our program fluid and reactive in this rapidly evolving healthcare environment. We invite you to advance the achievements of our students, the quality of our curriculum and the downstream impact on patient care through a gift to the Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling.
