The Department of Dermatology aims to be a world leader in the treatment and investigation of skin disease fueled by medical excellence and discovery.

It is our mission to provide leading-edge training for our residents and fellows in medical dermatology, multidisciplinary specialty dermatology, surgical dermatology and dermatopathology.

All faculty and trainees provide current and innovative therapies at UC Irvine and actively engage in research and conferences to provide optimized options for routine and exceptional cases. We cover dermatologic emergencies 24 hours a day at UCI Health’s multiple sites, including our busy burn unit, and provide care to underinsured and uninsured patients, supplying a huge service to the community.

Now, you can shape the future of dermatology by helping to provide critical funding for the missions of the Department of Dermatology. Gifts to Dermatology will be used to support:

• Medical Student Research Awards - Providing a current medical student with in-depth experience in basic science, clinical or translational skin research.
  
  
• Resident Research Program Support- Providing critical funding for resident research projects.
  
  
• Research Assistant Support – Supporting salaries for students and post graduate individuals interested in participating in Department of Dermatology research.
  
  
• Resident Education Fund – Providing support for residents to do away rotations for outstanding experience.
  
  
• Faculty Research Accelerator - Allowing faculty without funding or with limited research funding to get preliminary data to apply for larger grants.
  
  
• Clinical Innovation Incubator – Connecting basic scientists and Dermatology clinicians to strategize on innovative solutions to unsolved problems related to skin care and provide funding for initial discovery steps.
