From August 2004 to June 2013, Dean Andrew J. Policano set a course for unprecedented growth at the Paul Merage School of Business. His vision for the school’s expansion went beyond the construction of a transformational, state-of-the-art building; it included the establishment of an undergraduate program that would play a pivotal role in attracting top talent from around the world.
During his tenure, more than twenty new faculty members were hired, and eleven chairs/professorships were created. As a result of his leadership, and only eleven years since its inaugural cohort, our undergraduate program continues to rise in popularity, with a 23% increase in graduating students from 2023-24.
In 2024, we opened a newly renovated space within SB1 reserved for undergraduate students to study, host organization events, and receive mentoring. In honor of Dean Policano, we are seeking to raise $250,000 to support the Dean Andrew J. Policano Undergraduate Endowed Fund. This fund will support undergraduate-focused experiential learning, programming and activities within the new Andrew J. Policano Undergraduate Student Success Commons. Proposed activities include:
▪ Academic workshops
▪ Fall Spirit Week
▪ Open House Undergraduate Programs Celebration
▪ First generation and transfer student activities/networking sessions
▪ Mentorship program
▪ Meeting and programming space for 30 student-led UG clubs
▪ Dean's Welcome/UG Programs faculty teaching undergrad reception
▪ Merage Undergraduate Student Association (MUSA) meetings, luncheons, and activities
▪ End-of-Year Celebration or Graduate Celebration
▪ SPOP/transfer advising
You can make a gift of any size today in honor of Dean Policano and his dedication to undergraduate student excellence at the Paul Merage School of Business.
