Student Government Student Media (SGSM) is the umbrella department for several student-run organizations. This includes five student governments: Associated Students, University of California, Irvine (ASUCI); Associated Graduate Students (AGS); Student Bar Association (SBA); Merage Student Association (MSA); and Associated Medical Student Government (AMSG); and five student medias: The New University, KUCI, Anthology, Ant Television, and Alternative Media. We also oversee the first-in-the-nation, all-electric campus shuttle – Anteater Express.

INNOVATIVE – create new experiences and develop ideas that are fresh and forward-thinking.
INDEPENDENT – be a government and have a media for and by the students.
Each area is distinct based on their role at UC Irvine, but have one important thing in common: developing leadership skills through unique opportunities. This can be from advocating and being a voice for others, supporting needs that are important to this, creating a digital history through storytelling and photography, showcasing stories, and having conversations that matter to the community.
SGSM is proud to work with many creative, smart, and motivated student leaders in our organization who contribute greatly to this campus, leaving an imprint that lasts far beyond their years at UC Irvine. Your support to any of our entities will allow students to continue to develop their leadership skills; learn to advocate for themselves, others, and future generations; and design & execute programs, initiatives, events, and content that is meaningful, relevant, and impactful to the community. All support will be for the students and used solely by the students.
