UC Irvine Emeriti Association

Your generosity strengthens the UC Irvine Emeriti Association’s ability to advocate for emeriti/ae benefits, provide enriching programming and support future scholars through our graduate student dissertation awards.

Why Your Gift Matters
UC Irvine Emeriti Association works tirelessly to support UC systemwide initiatives that help strengthen UC Irvine as a whole and advocate for its current and past faculty members. This group of volunteers are thoroughly involved on campus and represent the grander scale of emeritus making a difference in retirement. Your donation is essential in providing resources that would allow for the Emeriti Association to continue to thrive and represent UC Irvine in the most pivotal ways. Thanks to donor support, we have successfully established the Faculty Retirement Liaison position to assist faculty transitioning to retirement.

This Giving Day, we seek your support in two critical areas:

Graduate Student Dissertation Awards: Your Giving Day gift to the Dissertation Quarter Fellowships fund will help expand funding for our graduate student dissertation awards, ensuring that outstanding graduate students receive the recognition and financial assistance they need to complete their research.

UCI Emeriti Association: Your Giving Day gift to the UCI Emeriti Association fund contributes to future programming, annual events, and costs associated with attendance at systemwide meetings such as The Council of University of California Emeriti Associations.

Background

As a volunteer-led organization, we work to protect and promote the interests of our emeriti/ae and faculty considering retirement through:

  • Advocacy and Representation: Engaging with campus leadership and serving on the Academic Senate Council on Faculty Welfare
  • Community Engagement: Strengthening connections between emeriti/ae and UC Irvine’s departments, schools and leadership
  • Retirement Benefits Protection: Championing retiree health insurance and UC retirement benefits at both campus and systemwide levels
  • Recognition and Enrichment: Nominating emeriti/ae for campus and UC awards and hosting lectures of special interest
  • Collaboration and Activities: Partnering with the UC Irvine Center for Emeriti and Retirees to offer events and programs
