Department of Chicano & Latino Studies
Supporting Student Research on Chicano/Latino Communities!

The Department of Chicano/Latino Studies is committed to providing students with unique opportunities to conduct independent and faculty-guided research. Such experiences are key for building research, writing, and critical thinking skills and establishing relationships with faculty. Many students draw on their research experiences to inform their career choices and pursue graduate school.

Our mission this Giving Day is to raise $2,500 to support 10 Chicano/Latino Studies students with up to $250 each to support their post-graduation ambitions. Let’s help launch them into their careers.

Chicano/Latino Studies majors have gone on to work in a variety of fields: from the law and health professions to environmental justice and public-school classrooms. We’re seeking to help our recent grads as they prepare to take the GRE, the LSAT, and other exams, and as they seek fellowships, graduate school admission, and other goals.

UC Irvine is a federally recognized Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), which means that 25% of our students identify as Latino and we are proud to train them for their bright future.

Your contribution this Giving Day will make sure nothing stops the aspirations of UC Irvine’s incredible Chicano and Latino Studies students.
