Phi Beta Kappa (PBK) is the oldest and most prestigious honors society in the nation. Only the most outstanding undergraduates at America’s leading colleges and universities who meet the Society’s rigorous and comprehensive standards are elected to membership each year. Receiving an invitation to join PBK is arguably the highest academic honor that undergraduate students can achieve. At UC Irvine, only up to the top 5% of graduating seniors and the top 1% of third year juniors are invited to join PBK each year, making it more selective than Latin Honors.
PBK members demonstrate intellectual integrity, tolerance for other views and a broad range of academic interests. Members are committed to the liberal arts and sciences, to freedom of inquiry and expression, and to the love of wisdom and knowledge for its own sake.
Please consider making a gift to the UC Irvine Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and help us establish the proposed first-ever PBK Endowment Fund at UC Irvine*. This fund will be used in perpetuity to cover the lifetime membership fees and cost of inducting nominated students into PBK. Donations to establish this endowment will allow more nominated students to accept their invitation to join PBK.
