Our Vision, Mission and Values
UC Irvine Mens Volleyball is leading a movement that brings restoration to a confused industry of sport and society within the context of a top-10 public university. And your investment helps us leverage and accelerate the resources already provided by The University of California.
Your UC Irvine Mens Volleyball student-athletes play with passion, strive towards a common objective, and are constantly asked to examine the habits and disciplines that are already molding them into the men they will become. I believe it is a good project.
Our mission remains the same:
“Cultivate Champions. Win Championships.”
Both are important. And the order is important. And as Head Coach, given any circumstance or climate, I remain committed to these values:
1) To Attack with Strategy.
I will leverage the genius of our student-athletes and help them build the skills they will need to become valuable team members in any context.
2) To Serve “We before Me”
I will encourage our boys to continue to do the hardest thing in life, to put the collective objective first. I will hold them to a standard of behavior if needed, with the ultimate objective being a transformed and service-minded heart.
3) To Honor the Gift.
I will remind them that all things, from the elation of a win to the constraints, hardships, and setbacks that are guaranteed in a life worth living, all should be treated as a gift. And I will remind them that while they wear the jersey today, there were those that came before and that will come after – so they should not over (or under) value this moment in time.

Together We Zot - Mens Volleyball
As a result of the landmark settlement in the NCAA vs. House case, NCAA D1 institutions are entering a new era and now provide financial assistance to student-athletes as part of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) activities.
That's where Together We Zot comes in. The Together We Zot Fund is managed through the UC Irvine Foundation and is a 501(c)(3) organization.
This initiative is a bold step forward. It's not just a donation — it's a targeted investment in the success of our student-athletes and the long-term strength of UC Irvine Athletics.
The Together We Zot - Mens Volleyball fund is exclusively dedicated to providing scholarships, room and board stipends, summer school, institutional licensing (NIL) directly to student-athletes, and Alston awards, ensuring UC Irvine stays at the forefront of innovation and impact in college sports.
Together We Zot is about more than just funding. It's a commitment to:

- Maximizing each student-athlete's potential
