Basic Needs Center

At the UCI Basic Needs Center, our mission is clear: to make UCI a basic needs-secure campus by ensuring every student has access to essential resources, including food and housing. We understand that meeting the basic needs of our students greatly impacts their mental and physical health, academic performance, work productivity, and holistic success. As such, we are dedicated to fostering financial stability among students through equitable access to basic needs, achieved through student empowerment, community collaboration, and institutional integration.

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we achieved a significant milestone this year by launching our Mobile Food Pantry. This initiative ensures accessibility for students by delivering fresh, nutritious food directly to campus every Friday. It's a mobile solution that meets students where they are, ensuring that no student goes hungry. Your continued support will amplify our impact, enabling us to reach even more students in need. Together, we can fund our mission: mobile nutrition!

On Giving Day, we're raising funds to support our vital services, such as our Emergency Meal Swipes program, emergency housing, CalFresh assistance, and our two pantries. Did you know that students visit our Fresh Pantry and Mobile Pantry nearly 7,000 times every quarter? Your Giving Day gift will directly impact around 600 students weekly, ensuring they have access to nutritious food and essential resources.

With your support, we can enhance accessibility, expand our range of fresh food options, and extend our reach to help even more students in need. Your contribution isn't just a donation; it's a lifeline for our students.

Your support matters. With your help, we can continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of UCI students. Thank you for considering us on Giving Day!
