We’re the Young Alumni Council – a group of UCI graduates of the last decade dedicated to creating pathways for fellow young alumni to achieve personal and professional success, all while engaging with UCI.
Let’s be real. Getting the call to “donate” is not the first thing you want to hear from your alma mater. Plus, donating sounds like you have to give a lot in order to make an impact. We get it. But if we ALL donated a cup of coffee or a Chipotle bowl – together we could help pay it forward.
We know the cost of education can be a significant burden. Because of this, our goal this year is to raise $3,000 – hoping to significantly support two outstanding scholars.
By giving to our scholarship, you have the power to change the trajectory of a student’s life – $5, $10, $15 at a time. All donations are a mighty donation. Help a student pay those lab fees, book costs, parking permits, etc. that we all know can add up.

Nora Naguib-Estefanous
Political Science; Class of 2027
Nora has dedicated the past year to focusing on her studies while immersing herself into college life. She has recently gotten involved in Best Buddies (a club that helps students with disabilities) and the Pre-Law Society. As a young child, whenever Nora was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, a teacher was always her response. She’s starstruck by the idea of sharing her knowledge with people. During the pandemic, many students struggled with their education and needed extra support from their schools. Glenview Elementary School made a program where students could receive tutorial help through Zoom from teachers and volunteers. Nora was able to offer her time to help with math and reading and began noticing a positive difference in her students. They were excited to learn, which in turn, excited her. Once the pandemic ended, she continued her work with the school, volunteering every Wednesday after school to help with their childcare program. She has been able to use these skills to be successful at UCI and she hopes to carry them into her future career.
