The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is committed to enhancing orthopaedic care globally. It is our goal to expand access, remove barriers, and advance the safety of orthopaedic surgical care around the world. With your support on UCI Giving Day, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery will transform the world standard of orthopaedic surgical care via our Global Orthopedic Health Program.
This global initiative includes partnerships with academic institutions worldwide to improve patient care via training and education of healthcare providers in medically underserved communities. Your support on Giving Day will allow UC Irvine Orthopaedic Surgery residents to participate in medical missions and educational opportunities including surgical care in Africa and other continents.
Through their travels, these residents will experience global healthcare firsthand and understand how the medical technology, techniques and surgical skills they introduce can change healthcare in impoverished communities around the world in a meaningful and long-lasting manner.
