SAGE Scholars is a leadership development program to promote career success for upper-division UCI students from underrepresented backgrounds. Scholars selected for the program have significant financial need and high aspirations to contribute to a vibrant, diverse workforce. In this cohort-model program, students receive leadership training, career and graduate school planning, mentoring, growth mindset and resilience training, community service engagement, and access to internship and scholarship opportunities.
Our current scholars represent 33 unique majors on campus, 29% are pursuing two or more degrees and 37% are transfer students. Just under 70% of these students made the Dean’s Honors List in fall 2021 and 81% are first-generation college students. All of our scholars are currently seeking or have secured a summer internship or summer research assignment.
Your support today will provide these students with resume and interview training, strengths and skills assessments, financial literacy training, emergency grants, networking events, and over 500 hours of one-on-one and group mentoring and professional development counseling hours.
A gift of any amount will make a difference. Thank you in advance for your support!
