Graduate students are the lifeblood at UCI. These bright scholars are the world’s future innovators and next leaders. 2020 was a challenge and a disruption for these fine students. Many of them who depended on summer jobs, grants, and other fellowship opportunities were left in an impossible position. Research was disrupted, and the effects of last year’s tragedy will linger well into the next calendar year. UCI Graduate Division needs your help to make sure these bright scholars have the summer funding they need to thrive and complete their research. The UCI Graduate Division mission is to serve as a catalyst for a world-class graduate educational experience, to foster oversight and communication of institutional academic policies, and to provide resources and essential services to promote the diversity and success of the next generation of leaders.
At UCI, the Graduate Division oversees all aspects of graduate student life, including admissions, academic progress and advocacy, fellowships, funding and financial support, equity and inclusion, employment and professional development. However, UCI does not have sufficient fellowship funds to fully support all students in every stage of their Ph.D. programs.
