Psychiatry & Human Behavior

While the Covid-19 pandemic has proven especially devastating to people with preexisting physical and mental health problems, the new normal has taken a psychological toll on the entirety of our society. Measures instituted to slow the spread of the virus (quarantining, social distancing, masking) have given rise to feelings of isolation, alienation and frustration. Over the past year, the United States has experienced a steady increase in the rates of depression, anxiety, substance abuse and suicide.

UCI Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior is committed to being a resource in helping the community navigate through this unprecedented time. We are improving the lives of people with mental illness by providing first-rate patient care, conducting research to advance innovative treatments, and training the next generation of compassionate mental health care providers.

Your support is more important now than ever. By making a gift to support the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, you can help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on mental health and create a brighter future for our community and beyond.
